{"id":683,"date":"2022-02-04T23:42:44","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T23:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rfch.bvs.hn\/?p=683"},"modified":"2022-02-08T01:11:10","modified_gmt":"2022-02-08T01:11:10","slug":"comparacion-de-tres-metodos-odontologicos-para-estimacion-de-edad-dental-en-ninos-hondurenos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rfch.bvs.hn\/?p=683","title":{"rendered":"Comparaci\u00f3n de tres m\u00e9todos odontol\u00f3gicos para estimaci\u00f3n de edad dental en ni\u00f1os hondure\u00f1os."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>La estimaci\u00f3n de la edad dental reviste de vital importancia en el \u00e1mbito forense por sus amplias aplicaciones en los procesos de identificaci\u00f3n y su aplicaci\u00f3n para estimar la edad cronol\u00f3gica especialmente en personas vivas, en las que no se dispone de pruebas v\u00e1lidas de su fecha de nacimiento. Se compararon los m\u00e9todos de Dermirjian, Moorees y Nolla para estimaci\u00f3n de la edad dental con fines de aplicaci\u00f3n forense, para lo cual se seleccionaron 114 radiograf\u00edas panor\u00e1micas de pacientes hondure\u00f1os por nacimiento, de ambos sexos (57 femeninos y 57 masculinos), con edades cronol\u00f3gicas entre cinco y 17 a\u00f1os que acudieron al Servicio de Ortodoncia del Hospital Odontol\u00f3gico Monse\u00f1or Agust\u00edn Hombach de la Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Honduras en Tegucigalpa; los pacientes se seleccionaron sin agenesias dentales en la hemiarcada inferior izquierda, ni alteraciones en el desarrollo denta sin tratamientos de apicoformaci\u00f3n y sin extracci\u00f3n prematura de primeras o terceras molares. Los estadios de maduraci\u00f3n se asignaron de acuerdo a la metodolog\u00eda propuesta por Demirjian, Moorrees y Nolla. La edad cronol\u00f3gica se obtuvo de los expedientes, se determin\u00f3 la exactitud de cada m\u00e9todo, calculando la diferencia de las medias entre la edad cronol\u00f3gica y la edad dental estimada por los tres m\u00e9todos mediante una prueba de Wilcoxon, debido a que la muestra no present\u00f3 una distribuci\u00f3n normal, Morrees (0.31, DE = 1.14) y Nolla (0.1, DE = 1.23) sobreestiman la edad en el sexo femenino y la subestiman en los masculinos (0.3\/-0.2, DE = 1.32\/1.35), mientras que el m\u00e9todo de Demirjian subestima la edad en ambos sexos (-0.4\/-0.4, DE = 1.23\/1.31). Se evidenci\u00f3 que en la muestra estudiada no hay diferencias entre la edad cronol\u00f3gica y la edad dental estimada por los m\u00e9todos de Demirjian, Moorees y Nolla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
